Weave Living, a premier co-living space in Singapore, has recently unveiled a stunning mural that captures the essence of the city's rich heritage. Located along Jalan Sultan, the mural depicts a scene of nostalgia, showcasing the Peranakan backyard, tingkat (tiffin) containers, and a lady in traditional Sarong Kebaya tending to her flowers while looking out to the serene Sultan Mosque.

At the heart of the mural lies a story of culture and tradition, as well as a celebration of Singapore's unique blend of history and modernity. To bring this vision to life, Weave Living teamed up with us to create a series of illustrations and murals that showcase the city's vibrant heritage.

A key feature of the mural, depicting the traditional home of a Peranakan family, complete with intricate tiles and wooden shutters. The image of the lady in a Sarong Kebaya, meanwhile, pays homage to the iconic traditional dress of Singapore, which remains a popular fashion choice for many locals.

The use of tingkat (tiffin) containers in the mural is also a clever nod to Singapore's culinary heritage. These metal containers, which are used to carry food, were once a common sight in Singapore's bustling hawker centers, where street vendors would sell a variety of delicious dishes.

Overall, the mural is a testament to Singapore's rich cultural heritage and the importance of preserving it for future generations. By capturing these scenes of nostalgia, Weave Living has created a truly unique and inspiring space that celebrates the city's past while embracing its future.
